10 Months Old on Daddy's Birthday

Beatrix was 10 months old yesterday on Gavin's birthday. They're in the 25 birthday club together. What a month it's been for our little B. She has certainly found her voice. In the past two days she has woken up from a long night's sleep (6pm until 7am, sshhh don't jinx it) with new words. Yesterday morning it was baba and this morning it was lala for her big sis.

Although in general she's much happier now she's sleeping more, she's having a hard time playing by herself and I can't seem to leave for more than a few minutes. My left arm is developing a steel muscle from carrying her around. I think it's a phase. I hope it's a phase.

She continues to be vociferous when eating and she loves to eat. I gave her a few allergy-alert foods in the past week and she did just fine with both the egg and the raspberries. Her favorite right now seems to be mini cheese raviolis. About the only thing she slightly turned her nose up to were the green beans I cooked a few days ago. She wasn't sure, but she ate them anyway in the end.

These pictures were taken by my friend Ozzie at school in the playground. If she could, Beatrix would be on the tire swing with her sis and all the siblings, but for now she's pretty content to play in the grass and eat my keys.

Nine Months Old on Christmas Day

t

Beatrix turned nine months on Christmas day. Her first Christmas was a big success. She had a great day. As paper is one of her favorite things to play with, it was a win-win situation. She got some great real toys, too. A drum that sings songs from Ercilia, a bowling game from Grandma and Grandad, lots of clothes and books from Nana and Grandad and Tiffany. I think the best part of her day, however, was lunchtime. She ate Nana's turkey and had her first Yorkshire pudding--she loved it.

She's crawling all over the place these days and it's really hard to keep track of her. She has two funny little teeth and probably two more coming in at the top. She likes to shout a lot, especially in her high chair. She's also starting to pull up on things, mostly me and sometimes the crib.
She's still a sparkly girl with so much twinkle in her eyes.
